Preformed Ponds or Flexible pond liners?

Well I have a Butyl pond liner in my semi formal pond but I’m thinking
of replacing it with one of those preformed ponds at some point
when it starts to leak too much.

I thought I could build an eleborate garden water feature using preformed ponds connected together with a river course and water pump then I’d blog about my progress here.
